Irene is a freelance trumpet player based in London. She has performed as an orchestral and chamber musician throughout the UK, Europe and the USA with groups including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English National Ballet. She is a former member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Southbank Sinfonia. Irene also loves teaching, and relishes the chance to work with students of all ages and abilities.

 

Irene grew up in Chicago where she began studying the trumpet at the age of 9. She holds a BA from Yale University, as well as a Master's of Music degree from Northwestern University and a Post-graduate diploma from the Royal Academy of Music. She has been very lucky to study with a number of excellent musicians including Mark David, Robert Farley, Charles Geyer, Howard Snell and James Watson.

She has two young sons who keep her busy when she isn’t performing. She loves trail running and skiing when she can sneak out of London.
